Pop Up Shops Around Brisbane

Lately VM+ has been hard at work setting up Pop Up shops around Brisbane. These pop ups require hours of preparation prior to installation to create something gorgeous but temporary. Check out some of our favourite Pop Up set ups! Lend Lease K1 Pop Up// The K1 Pop Up cafe had to look contemporary and fresh with greenery and wooden elements emulating a ‘market’ style activation. The space was a completely blank canvas that had to be styled and made into a functional eatery. We incorporated real and faux greenery to create a garden atmosphere and wooden birdcage chandeliers covered in foliage to add a striking element, drawing the eye from the bland ceilings. Pallet bars, festoon lights, wine barrels and wood and black furniture created a modern setting and fit perfectly with the pop up ‘market’ store theme.  For more photos of this activation click here. Night Noodle Market// The Night Noodle Market Pop Up activation was all about colour and creating a ‘look up’ effect for patrons.  We strung up countless colourful silk parasols from the clear marquee emulating a sea of colour. At night an intimate setting was created as swagged festoon lights lit up the space. Greenery and wooden pallets and crates added seating and an effective rustic element to the open marquee pop up.  For more photos on this pop up click here. Jazz Apples// Jazz Apples was a simple but exciting little pop up that ran for two weeks at Movie World and Sea World at the Gold Coast. A market cart, rustic props, blackboards, baskets and wooden crates were all that were...

We have been busy this month with exciting and different visual merchandising set ups at some of our favourite shopping precincts! The Myer Centre Autumn/Winter// Earlier in the month we set up The Myer Centre Autumn/Winter display. The street signs and witches hats mixed with Lister’s artwork created a unique and impactful display celebrating urban fashion and art. Queens Plaza Accessories Display// Queens Plaza went for a sophisticated and classic display for their accessories space. The white and black colour scheme is simple and fresh complimenting the sleek furnishings of the centre. Westfield Garden City Flash Tattoo Zone// Metallic was the theme of this mini one day set up. Autumn/Winter 2015/16 VM Trends- Ice Princess & Take Flight

Following fashion and trends for the upcoming season, we’re counting down our favourite trends for visual merchandising for Autumn/Winter 2015/16! Take Flight// Continuing the Autumn/Winter visual merchandising trends for 2015/16 is all that is feathered with “Take Flight”. Look to the skies for inspiration for this trend as feathers of all kinds will be popping up in displays. Winged creatures are also key to this trend with butterfly wings and peacock prints lining the runways. This trend will be shown in dark hues with bright colourful accents to create opulent and eye-catching displays. Ice Princess// The next Autumn/Winter trend is the stark white and frosty trend of “Ice Princess”. This theme incorporates light and airy fabrics and pale white scenes with touches of sky blue. The entire look gives a sense of elegance and delicacy. The “Ice Princess” sets the scene of an ethereal beauty in a frosted wonderland with fragile  icicles and dew drops. Our perspex snowflakes work perfectly in this theme creating height and a touch of colour to any display. To see what else we have to create this trend contact our stylists on 3217 4500.  ...

How to Trim the Perfect Christmas Tree

Ever wondered how those Christmas trees in shopping centres are decorated so PERFECTLY?  Every bauble seemingly in its specific place, amazingly even distribution of those ever-tangling lights and perfect ratio of bauble colours and textures, all while never seeing how they are hung on the tree or even that the lights have leads? Well, never fear, we are going to let you in on our tree trimming secrets! Follow our steps to success and you’ll be trimming like a professional! 1. Assemble your tree and fluff out the branches. Start at the bottom and work your way up row by row. To create a full tree shape you will need to separate the tree tips from the main branch. Start with the pair of fronds closest to the central trunk, make an upward v shape and continue this process along the branch ensuring that the fronds are at varying heights. To add realism to the odd frond can be positioned in a downward v. 2. Visually divide your tree into two sections. Begin lighting each section of your tree from the top in a zig zag motion to the base. To ensure you achieve the best positioning if lights have them turned on whilst positioning. Make sure you try to conceal all wires and wrap the tip of a frond around the base of the light bulb to keep it upright and in place. 3. Divide your decoration into two even piles. Decorate your tree one section at a time. Start by putting all larger decoration on first then the second largest and so on, to create an even...
