Our team took on an unusual visual merchandising challenge at the Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets lending our design eye to market stalls and giving them a mini makeover ‘blitz’ style. Read on for details of how we created the unique looks for each stall in a short amount of time.
We updated the Drunken Bottles store with a fresh brick print wallpaper backdrop to the display stands to add interest and texture to the stand. Simple rugged props which matched the brand were added including timber cutoffs and bricks to elevate the merchandise and a custom branded bar mat for a humorous touch.
The Surfers Paradise Beachfront Market information stand was given a funky makeover to ensure it stands out from the crowd at future events with the addition of tropical, retro elements. Astro turf, fabric backdrops and matching tablecloths in fun prints are an easy option for packing up and down on each market day and with tropical foliage and cute paper pineapples the stall now feels fresh and inviting to visitors.
One of our favourite makeovers of the day was the Bush to Body stand with hessian runners, rustic signs and billy cans with lemon myrtle to elevate the presentation of the handmade soaps and beauty products. The hessian backdrop with lanterns, billy can lids, gum leaves and a new sign matched back to the locally produced, natural brand and were a simple and easy option for the stallholder to bring and set up each market day.
It’s amazing how something as simple as fresh signage and a few simple props can make such a huge difference to the overall look, feel and quality of the presentation of the stall and merchandise to customers.
The Captivating Candles stall was given a touch of love with soft foliage elements on the table, sides and backdrop of the marquee. Cute crates and handwritten chalkboard signs in the merchandise display matched back to the pretty handmade products on offer.
Another quick fix to add interest and elevate the display of merchandise is through the addition of risers, here in the form of cute rustic crates (which serve a dual purpose for the transport each market day), which creates height and a sense of drama with very little effort.
