The Blues Brothers were back and they hit the road to help Heavy Haulage Australia raise money for Variety the Children’s Charity in The Variety Bash. The 2013 XXXX GOLD ‘Sun, Saddles & Surf’ VARIETY BASH had volunteers travelling in their 30+ year old vehicles from Emerald to Mission Beach via the largest rodeo event in the South Hemisphere: The Mount Isa Rodeo! The event raised money for the very worthy Variety Club of Australia to support sick, disabled or disadvantaged children.
This year VM+ was asked by Heavy Haulage Australia to theme their ‘lovingly restored’ vehicle in outrageous Blues Brothers fashion! VM+ / The Prop House, always up for a unique challenge and a good cause, attached a couple of famous hitchhikers to the car! Mannequins were created with remarkable likeness to Jake and Elwood Blues all decked out in suits, top hats and sunglasses for authentic Blues Brothers swag. In adding to the ridiculous fun factor, we fitted the car out with an epic horn, AMP system and speakers to ensure this car would be heard playing the famous Blues Brothers soundtrack in Mt Isa from Emerald.
VM+ & The Prop House team had so much fun helping Heavy Haulage Australia fit out their car for this incredible event and hopefully next we’ll have multiple cars to “renovate” in style for The Variety Bash! If you want to have VM+ / The Prop House decorate your old car for The Variety Bash please drop in to our Kangaroo Point studio or visit www.theprophouse.com.au to start formulating your unique idea for next years Variety Bash!
